Player Engagement Manager
Nashville Soccer Club
POSITION OVERVIEW
LOCATION: Nashville, TN
TYPE OF ROLE: Team Operation
The Player Engagement Manager is responsible for leading the player and family relocation process and executing all player engagement initiatives as defined by Nashville Soccer Club and Major League Soccer. This role will play a critical part in helping players and their families transition into the Nashville market and build a connection with Nashville Soccer Club. Additionally, the position supports the Director of Team Administration by organizing schedules, managing travel logistics, coordinating player appearances, and planning preseason camps. This role directly reports to the Director of Team Administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Player Relations & Development
Lead all First Team player engagement initiatives.
Collaborate with the Huntsville City FC and Academy operations staff on player engagement initiatives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with players, families, coaches, and staff to understand and address individual needs.
Maintain consistent, year-round contact with players in both individual and group settings.
Plan and facilitate on-going team building and development programming for the First Team.
Stay current on all league and players’ association policies and programs related to players and their families.
Maintain working knowledge of MLS Policies, including but not limited to the MLS Personal Conduct Policy.
Implement and facilitate MLS and MLSPA programs and initiatives at the Club.
Create, develop, and maintain a network of resources for the organization (i.e. rental properties, car dealerships, childcare options, etc.)
Serve as the primary point of contact for players’ and staff families on Match Day.
Develop family engagement events to foster connection between the families and the Club.
Player Services
Coordinate all aspects of relocation for players and staff, including but not limited to flights, housing, household furnishings, vehicles, school options and any other personal needs.
Manage the relocation and player engagement activities in alignment with established Club and league guidelines.
Assist players and families with Social Security, Human Resources, and state-required applications such as Social Security cards, driver’s licenses, and state IDs.
Act as lead point of contact in player housing searches, bank account setup, and vehicle leases.
Onboard players into MLS payroll & benefit systems (WorkDay, ADP, etc.)
Assist with immigration processes for player and staff visas and/or green cards.
Monitor and maintain communication with players transitioning between Nashville SC, Huntsville City FC, and the Academy.
Internal Relations
Aid in the organization, scheduling, and execution of requests for player appearances and autographs for internal departments.
Maintain strong relationships and communication with internal departments (Operations, Communications, Marketing and Ticketing) to stay updated on any changes to protocols, initiatives, and campaigns.
Serve as a liaison between players and internal/external stakeholders (i.e. Club staff, corporate partners, etc.)
Maintain a database of communication with former Nashville Soccer Club alumni.
Administration
Assist with the development of travel itineraries for away trips, including away matches and preseason camps.
Attend league meetings, monthly calls, and other events as required.
Manage the department budget for team activities, player engagement initiatives, and family needs.
Collaborate with MLS Player Engagement staff to establish clear goals and consistency for all engagement efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Teamworks preferred.
Ability to travel to all away matches and accompany the team on required trips.
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Spanish fluency preferred.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and a high degree of professionalism.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Research Intern

The Professional Association of Athlete Development Specialists is a dedicated organization that unites sport leaders and organizations committed to fostering holistic athlete development. We aim to advance knowledge, share best practices, and promote research-driven approaches within the industry.
POSITION OVERVIEW
LOCATION: Remote
TYPE OF ROLE: Internship
DURATION: 1 year
PAADS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Intern to support our efforts in identifying and curating research-based articles, content, and insights relevant to holistic athlete development. The intern will play a key role in supporting our communication and thought leadership initiatives, including the quarterly newsletter and the upcoming Research Symposium.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct comprehensive reviews of literature to identify current and relevant research articles, reports, and content related to athlete development, sport psychology, coaching, wellness, and related topics.
Curate and organize research findings to support features in the quarterly PAADS newsletter.
Collaborate with PAADS team members to select impactful research and content for dissemination.
Assist in preparing materials and summaries for the upcoming Research Symposium.
Track emerging trends and notable publications in the field of athlete development.
Support other research-related projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Evidence of excellent written communication skills is required
Applicants should emphasize prior experience with social scientific research (e.g., research methods classes, working in a lab, presenting at conferences, publishing research)
Preference will be given to applicants currently working with a research supervisor in a lab or some other research capacity
